If you want 66MB/sec IDE data transfers, Ultra66 is a controller card that supports Ultra ATA/66 drives. Ultra66 also offers improved sequential data transfers (for large files), CRC error-checking support of UDMA mode. An Ultra ATA/66 cable is needed to get 66MB/sec data reliability (Sold Separately). Ultra66 is completely backward compatible with UDMA/33 drives, EIDE, Fast ATA-2, or ATAPI devices. Ultra 66 frees up your motherboard's 2 onboard IDE channels to connect more IDE CD-ROM's, tape-backups, or other devices, it's like adding 2 more IDE ports to your system so you can run your IDE drives faster and more reliably
